Delete your Educura account and data
How to delete your Educura account — on the website, in the Educura Android app, or by email — and exactly what is erased and what is kept.

How to delete your account
In the app or on the website
- Sign in to Educura at educura.net or in the Educura Android app.
- Open Your account. Learners: tap Profile → Your account. Teachers and staff: open the account menu at the top right and choose Your account.
- Choose the Delete tab, then Delete my account.
- Type your email address to confirm and press Confirm deletion. If you signed in a while ago we will ask you to sign in again first, so nobody else can delete your account from a device you left signed in.
By email
If you cannot sign in, email privacy@educura.net from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Educura account”. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we act on the request. A parent or guardian can ask for a child’s account to be deleted the same way. If your school or institute created your account, you can also ask its administrator.
What happens next
Your account is signed out of every device and hidden from other people straight away. It then waits for a 14-day grace period. If you change your mind, sign in again during that period: the request is cancelled and your account is restored as it was. If you cannot sign in, contact us and we can reverse it for you. After the grace period the deletion is carried out and cannot be undone. We complete every request within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When the deletion is carried out we permanently erase:
- Your sign-in identity: email address, password (stored only as a hash), and login credentials.
- Your name, nickname, name reading, and phone number.
- Your profile: handle, bio, profile picture, and public profile page.
- Your study preferences, such as audio speed and romaji display.
- All active sessions, so the account can no longer be signed in to.
- Your name wherever it was copied into class chat, class participant lists, and notifications. It is replaced with “Deleted user”.
Your learning and class activity is anonymised rather than erased: once your identity is gone it belongs to an anonymous “Deleted user” record and cannot be traced back to you.
What we keep, for how long, and why
- Anonymised learning and class records — progress, practice results, enrolment, attendance, and class chat, with your name and contact details removed. Schools need these for their course and accreditation records. They no longer identify you.
- Live class recordings — a recording you appear in also includes your teacher and classmates, so it is kept for the rest of the class until it expires automatically, 90 days after the class.
- Course content you wrote (teachers and authors) — lessons stay available to the students who use them, credited to “Deleted user”.
- Security and audit logs — a record that an account existed and was deleted, kept to protect the platform against fraud and abuse and to answer legal requests. These refer to an internal number, not your name or email.
- Messages you sent us — kept only as long as we need to resolve your request and meet our legal obligations.
Educura does not take payments in the app and does not hold payment card details.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove information. From Your account you can:
- Clear your nickname, bio, or phone number, or replace your profile picture (Profile tab).
- Make your profile private so nobody else can see it (Profile tab).
- Sign out other devices (Devices tab).
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings.
