How we collect, use, protect, and delete your information — and the extra care we take with the data of children who learn on Educura.

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Who we are

Educura is an online learning platform for care skills and workplace language, operated as a joint venture of Teiseikai, Southeast Business Group (SBG), and the Japan Pakistan Innovation Institute (JPII). This policy explains what information we collect through our website and mobile apps, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Educura is used by schools and institutes that enrol their own students, and by learners those institutes provide access to. Where a school provides your account, that school is responsible for its own handling of your information; this policy covers what Educura does.

Information we collect

We collect only what the platform needs to teach, to keep accounts secure, and to meet our legal obligations:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, managed through our identity provider. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Profile information — an optional display name, handle, profile picture, and a visibility setting you control (private, visible to your school, or public).
  • Learning activity — the courses and lessons you open, your progress and completion, practice results, and study preferences such as audio speed. This is the record that lets you pick up where you left off across devices.
  • Live class audio and video — when you join a live class, your microphone and camera stream to the other participants in that class. Sessions may be recorded for teaching and review.
  • Images you upload — such as a profile picture or a photo you submit in a lesson, taken with your camera or chosen from your device.
  • Messages you send us — when you contact support or fill in a form, we keep what you send so we can respond.
  • Notifications — if you turn on push notifications, a device token so we can deliver them. You can turn these off at any time in your device settings.
  • Minimal technical data — the limited information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as session and security logs. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to show you advertising.

  • To provide the courses, lessons, practice, and live classes you or your school signed up for.
  • To save and sync your progress so your learning follows you across devices.
  • To sign you in and keep your account and the platform secure.
  • To send you service messages you have asked for, and notifications you have enabled.
  • To respond to your questions and provide support.
  • To meet legal, accreditation, and safeguarding obligations.

Children's privacy

Children learn on Educura, and protecting them matters more than anything else here. Where a child uses the platform, we rely on verifiable consent — given by a parent or guardian, or by the child's school acting on the family's behalf for educational use — before collecting a child's personal information.

For child accounts we limit collection to what the learning requires, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics in our apps, and we do not show behavioural advertising. Live classes that include children are led by a teacher, and we provide ways to report concerns. A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information through the contact details below.

How we share information

We share information only in these limited ways:

  • With your school or institute, where it provides and administers your account — your enrolment, progress, and participation.
  • With service providers who run parts of the platform for us (for example hosting, identity, email delivery, and live-class infrastructure), under contracts that limit them to serving Educura.
  • To comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of learners and others.
  • In connection with a business transfer, if Educura is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you where required.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations.

You can ask to close your account at any time — from inside the app, or by contacting us. When you do, we deactivate the account and sign you out of every device immediately. The account then enters a grace period during which it can be recovered if the request was a mistake, after which the personal information is removed or anonymised. Some records that are required for legal, accreditation, or safeguarding reasons — for example a class recording that includes other learners — may be retained for longer, and we handle those according to our retention rules.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your Educura account from Your account → Delete, in the app or on the website, or by emailing privacy@educura.net. You can also delete specific data without closing your account. Our account deletion page sets out the steps, what is erased, and what is kept and for how long.

How we protect your information

We use encryption in transit, strict access controls, a one-way hashed store for passwords, and separation between the different kinds of data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will honour those rights as the law requires.

  • Access and correct your profile and account details from your account settings.
  • Control who can see your profile with the visibility setting.
  • Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
  • Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
  • Close your account from inside the app at any time.

Where your information is handled

Educura operates between Pakistan and Japan, and our service providers may process information in other countries. Wherever your information is handled, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform and the law change. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
